The Municipal Bureau of Veterans Affairs implements the guidelines, policies and decision-making arrangements of the Party Central Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, the Suihua Municipal Party Committee and the Zhaodong Municipal Party Committee on the work of veterans, and adheres to and strengthens the centralized and unified leadership of the Party on the work of veterans in the process of performing its duties。 The main responsibilities are: 

(1) Responsible for implementing policies and regulations on the ideological and political affairs, management and security of retired soldiers and the placement of special groups, and praising the spiritual style and value orientation of retired soldiers' sacrifice and dedication for the Party, the country and the people。 

(2) To be responsible for the transfer and resettlement of the city's army cadres, demobilized cadres, retired cadres, retired soldiers and non-military retired employees, as well as the independent choice of employment, employment of retired servicemen, archives management。

(3) To organize and guide the education and training of ex-servicemen in the city, coordinate and support the employment and entrepreneurship of ex-servicemen and their families attached to the army。 

(4) To organize and coordinate the implementation of housing security for other qualified ex-servicemen and non-military retired employees, as well as medical security, social insurance and other benefits security for ex-servicemen。

(5) To organize the implementation of planning policies for institutions such as medical care and elderly care for veterans。To undertake work related to wounded, sick and disabled servicemen who are unfit for further service。To organize and guide the work of military supply service guarantee。To be responsible for the examination and reporting of the disability level of the staff of the municipal state organs and the compensation of casualties。 

(6) To guide and coordinate the work of supporting the army, respecting the family, supporting the government and loving the people in the city。To be responsible for preferential treatment and compensation for active servicemen, retired servicemen, military civilian personnel and military families。 

(7) To be responsible for the city's martyrs and retired soldiers honor awards, military cemetery management and maintenance, memorial activities, etc., to undertake the protection of heroes and martyrs according to law, summarize and commend and publicize the advanced typical deeds of retired soldiers, retired soldiers work units and individuals。 

(8) To complete other tasks assigned by the Municipal Party Committee and the municipal government。
